A/N: This is a contest entry for 's Halloween theme contest. Wish me luck!
On the 31st of October, everyone would dress up as monsters and go get candy from their neighbors.
Well, not everyone.
(Y/n) usually simply stayed at home, handing out candy to the children and their adorable costumes.
But not this year.
This year, she had been invited to attend America’s crazy Halloween party, which was taking place at his giant house.
“Why not?” she had told America, since he was probably going to make her go anyways.
“Awesome, dude!” Alfred had replied. “But don't forget to wear a costume!”
And he had run away before she could change her mind. Sly bastard.
So that was how (y/n) had ended up borrowing one of England’s black cloaks and putting on excessive black eye makeup to dress up as a sorceress. And boy, did it look creepy.
Her car pulled up on America's street a few hours early, since the country had asked her for help with the decorations. (Y/n) guessed it was because she knew a few spells and could do them well, and he probably expected her to make everything fly in place in ten seconds.
She really hoped he didn't because she wasn't that good...
Before (y/n) could even knock, the door flew open and Alfred tackled her in a bone-crushing hug.
"Sup dudette! Glad you could make it!" exclaimed the American. "Come on in, let's get started!"
(Y/n) did as told, and saw the country's poor efforts at decorating, and suddenly didn't feel as nervous about her magic.
"Alright then," she said to no one in particular, before muttering an incantation, causing America's messily arranged decorations to place themselves properly. With a smirk, the watched his jaw drop in awe and continued decorating the place.
***Timeskip of lazy author-chan***
"All done!" (y/n) dusted off her cloak in satisfaction, thinking that her magic was definitely improving.
Alfred's house looked party-ready. An assortment of snacks from various countries were placed on a big table, all looking like edible monsters or colored orange and black. Speakers were set up everywhere around, playing catchy tunes, and the lights were very eerie, lighting up many different scary decorations, such as skulls and bats. Heck, even America's hero posters looked creepy!
"Thanks a bunch, man!" said Alfred, smiling and hugging (y/n) for the billionth time. "It looks great!"
"No prob!" replied (y/n), once the country had let go of her.
Around 7:00, the first countries began arriving, and the girl felt slightly out of place. She was the only human there, after all. Luckily for her, everyone treated her equally.
When the last country- Britain, probably wanting to stay as little time as possible- arrived, America announced that he wanted to play 'Last One Standing'.
"Basically," began Alfred, after being asked by almost everyone there what the game was. "Everyone scatters in the house and yard. We all have one toy gun, no real ones since it's just a game after all. Anyways, when you're shot, you come back to this room and wait. When everyone but one person is dead, we all come together and the survivor is the winner. Any questions?"
(Y/n), along with Russia and some others, raised her hand and asked if she could use magic.
Let's just say, she and Arthur were disappointed that there was a no magic rule.
"I will be asking question," said Russia. "Surely we need better weapons, da?"
Everyone shuddered at the thought of Russia with a gun, waiting to strike.
"N-no," stuttered America nervously. "W-we don't want anyone g-getting hurt..."
***Le timeskip to middle of game***
(Y/n) couldn't believe she had made it this far through, the again, maybe it was because she was teamed up with Spain and Prussia, who both fought pretty well, in her opinion. Still, (y/n) was a quick and good fighter, plus her cloak made her harder to spot. So, some would think that she had a good shot at winning.
"Guys," she whispered, shooting at China in the distance, missing a few times, but finally hitting him in the chest. With an annoyed huff, he stomped back to the room where the 'dead' would meet.
"Vhat, frau?" asked Prussia, as they walked through America's garden, (toy) guns ready, checking every corner for people.
(Y/n) didn't have time to answer, before both Spain and Prussia were shot square in the head. She fled, noticing Germany and Japan shooting in her direction, and hiding behind a large shrub.
"Holy s**t," cursed (y/n) in shock. "Can't believe I made it."
She stood up and took a couple shots where she could see Japan hiding, hitting both him and Italy.
"Oww! It-a really hurts!" whined Italy, walking to the 'dead' room with Japan, clutching his chest.
Even though she couldn't see him, (y/n) knew Germany was probably rolling his eyes at Italy's pathetic complaints.
POW! (Y/n) saw America shooting at Germany, but the target had already hit the shooter before he could take another shot.
"Dang it! You're lucky Germany..." muttered America angrily, probably thinking 'But the hero always wins!'.
"Oh and by the way," added Alfred. "You two are the last ones."
(Y/n)'s eyes widened and a consious shiver ran down her spine. There was no way she could beat Germany! He was way taller than her, stronger, and he had better aim. She sighed and calmed herself, thinking 'Don't worry, it's just a game.'
Germany was just as nervous. (Y/n) may not be as muscled as him, but she was quick, sharp and agile. Her fragile looks were just a cover. She had a lot of inner strength, and he knew it. He sighed and calmed himself, thinking 'Don't worry, it's just a game.'
The German's train of thoughts involving strategies was interrupted by a few bullets narrowly missing his blond head. He took a few shots at (y/n), who easily dodged, doing all kinds of backflips with a smirk on her face.
Before Ludwig knew it, he had been it in the back.
Which meant that (y/n) had won.
She didn't break out in cheers, as some would have. (Y/n) simply dropped her gun and stood up to shake Germany's hand, telling him things like 'Good job' and 'You did great'.
Afterwards, she did a few celebratory flips, and jogged back to the 'dead' room, where everyone cheered and whooped at her big win. Even Lovino had somewhat of a smile, which immediately dissapeared as soon as Spain teased him about it, replaced by 'Leave-a me alone, jerk bastard!' or 'I wasn't smiling, tomato-idiota!'.
Later, they watched a horror movie, and (y/n) was used as a stuffed animal for almost everyone but Russia, who was smiling throughout the movie, and some others who weren't really scared of things like that.
If you thought it couldn't get more awkward for (y/n), you'd be wrong.
Near the end of the movie, everyone decided to fall asleep, so they all crowded around (y/n) (who was beginning to question why she came here in the first place) and slept.
Basically, three or four countries were clinging onto her legs, America was hugging her from behind, nuzzling into her neck, England was holding one hand while Romano (yeah I can't believe it either) had the other, Spain was leaning on her shoulder, and Prussia's head was on her lap.
Eventually though, she fell asleep as well, thinking that she had some pretty good friends on her side.
